Class Description

Reader's Theater is when a script is presented without sets, without lights, and without movement to allow an audience to truly hear a story. For actor's, it's an awesome way to practice for auditions, play a role that they may not usually get to, and to connect with a story on a different level. For beginning, intermediate, and advanced young performers, this class will help hone the skills of characterization and cold reading. While building confidence, students will read scenes from well known plays and discover new favorites in plays they may not have heard of before. Reader's Theater is great for those who need to read out loud more and great for those who read well but can brush up on vocal dynamics and characterization.
