Description

What happens behind the scenes during a show at CYT? Come and find out as we introduce you to all of the aspects of STAGECRAFT: Stage managing, set design, costume plots, props plots, rehearsal reports, lighting, sound and make up. This class will give you some hands on skills to help you be a well rounded crew person or as a performer, have a better understanding of what it takes to take a show from the page to the performance in the theater. Learn from our CYT alumni and production team. This class will include weekly home work assignments to create a portfolio which will be displayed at Showcases.

Prerequisites: Core Drama (Drama 100) + 1 additional elective class

Andrew Sommerville

Andrew Sommerville is a CYT alumni from the class of 2018 and has been involved in 35+ shows on and offstage. They are currently attending Eastern Washington University to get a degree in Theatre. In the past, Andrew has taught dance, musical theatre, and stagecraft at CYT classes and summer camps. They are so excited to be teaching again with CYT Spokane!
