Through a mix of vocal exercises, simple choreography, and acting techniques, you'll learn how to express emotion and character through song and movement. The class will introduce you to iconic musical theater songs and scenes, giving you the opportunity to perform in a relaxed, creative environment. You’ll also work on building stage presence, confidence, and teamwork with your fellow students.
Prerequisite: AT LEAST 2 CORE CLASSES (DRAMA, VOICE, OR DANCE)

Teacher:

Carmen Hardy

Carmen has loved CYT ever since her daughter first auditioned 15 years ago. She has seen all six of her kids involved in some way or another. Carmen’s mom was a professionally trained singer, which inspired Carmen, as a young girl, to join an all-sibling group that toured around singing at local events. Carmen continued to be involved in singing in various college, community, and church choirs. As a young mother, she taught and directed a children’s dancing, singing, and performing group in Fort Collins Colorado. Teaching voice has been a great opportunity to share her love of music and her love for Jesus Christ.
