Enrollment in CYT classes provides students ages 8-18 the opportunity to audition for the current production. CYT Chapters produce one Broadway-style musical each session (Fall, Winter, and Spring). Students who want to be part of the show without performing can participate on the backstage crew, technical team, or as an usher.

CYT shows are always appropriate for the entire family and are an excellent way to introduce children to the arts at a young age!

  • Disney's Aladdin JR (March 2019)
  • Disney's Newsies (May-June 2019)

Auditions

Students enrolled in CYT Spokane classes are invited to audition for the current production. Auditions typically consist of a one-minute song and a short dance routine performed for the Artistic Team. The audition process may also include a “callback” in which a student may be asked to dance, read, or sing for a specific role.  Auditions are a wonderful way for students to gain self-confidence and to show the best of their talents!

CCT 2018 AUDITIONS:

Ages 12 - 112 (CCT shows do not have a class requirement)
** Ages 8-11 may audition if a parent is also auditioning for the show **
Tuesday, June 12th
5:00-8:00 pm @ CYT Spokane

You must audition with one of three audition song cuttings from the show. If you are auditioning for a named roll, please select the Male or Female Lead songs. If you are auditioning for ensemble only, please select the Ensemble song. The song cuttings are available under the show PDF section of our website. A live accompanist will be provided. Character reading audition lines can also be found in the PDF menu.

  2. Select - "TOOLS" and then "AUDITIONS"
  3. Select - "NEW AUDITION APPOINTMENT"
  4. Select - "Audition for Show", "THE MUSIC MAN", "Audition Time Slot" and click SAVE.

School Days

CYT brings the best in children’s theater to students throughout the county. Literature from the classroom comes to life on stage in quality productions with colorful costumes, professional staging, energetic choreography and singing. All performers and crew members are students ages 8 –18.

CYT School Day performances are designed specifically for elementary and middle school classes. Last year over 40,000 students attended our productions nation wide.

Production Teams

Parents are the backbone of CYT! Without them, CYT would not be the family-oriented organization that it is and could not produce the high-quality community shows that it does.

At least one parent of each student cast in the production must serve on a CYT Production Team. Options include, but are not limited to: costumes, souvenirs, props, greenroom, backstage, sets, technical, hair and make-up, marketing, and house management.
