Description

ONLY FOR THOSE IN CHRISTMAS QUARTETS 2025

Christmas Quartets is CYT Spokane's annual, traditional tour group. Singing traditional carols and popular Christmas favorites in 4-part a capella harmony, this group is the next level for advanced singers. The group will travel around Spokane during the Christmas season in Dickens costumes, spreading the joy and cheer of the season through their beautiful melodies. Additional time will be required as the class will include approximately 10 performance opportunities in the community throughout the month of December and may also include extra rehearsal time if needed.

Parents, please note that there will be additional involvement on your part to help make this tour group a success. A parent meeting will be held on the first night of class to cover these details. There is also a $30 production fee required to cover additional costs of the class.
Prerequisite: AUDITION ONLY

Teacher:

Presley DuPuis

Presley DuPuis is a proud CYT graduate who flipped over to the grown-up side and hasn't looked back since North Idaho first staged production, Snow White, in 2008 (playing the Magic Mirror). He has gone from being the kid who would play the piano backstage that he wasn't allowed to touch, to a full-fledged accompanist. Over the past decade he has worn many different hats in various CYT leadership roles including teacher, music director, director, pit musician, HYPE adviser, and improv coach. Presley holds his Bachelor of Arts in Music from Eastern Washington University and serves as the resident music director for Aspire Community Theatre while also maintaining his own private music studio where he instructs in both voice and piano. He can always be found playing, teaching, and collaborating with local community theatres, schools, universities, and choirs.

Teacher:

Andrea LaPlante

Andrea is the music teacher at Greenacres Elementary. Previously, she worked as the director of choirs at East Valley High School for the last 15 years. Since arriving in the Spokane area in 2007, she has had the opportunity several times to work with CYT as a parent, and now is really enjoying this role as class teacher and music director. In 2003 she earned a Bachelor of Music Education from Idaho State University, and in 2021 a Masters in Curriculum and Instruction from Western Governors University. Throughout her career, she has directed high school and middle school choirs, worked with elementary music programs, band, orchestra, and directed multiple drama productions. Andrea currently resides in Spokane Valley with her husband Garry, and four children, Carson, Natalie, Amelia, and Maisee.
